6 Big brown Mushrooms

B-Well Tangy Mayonnaise

Juice of Lemon

Cayenne Pepper or Smoked Paprika


Fresh Herbs

Salt & Pepper

Mayo Marinated Mushrooms Directions

  1. Get 6 large braai mushrooms, almost the size of your open hand.
    In a large bowl mix together the following ingredients.
    1½ cup Vegan Mayo (@bwellfoods creamy or tangy)
    Juice of a small Lemon
    1tsp Cayenne Pepper or Smoked Paprika
    1tsp Cumin
    2tbsp fresh Rosemary/Parsley or Coriander
    Salt & Pepper to taste
  2. After mixing all the ingredients above, use a silicone food brush (bristles are soft to not damage the mushroom cap) and cover them with the marinade completely, when all is well lathered, set aside for no less than an hour.
    ?Over medium coals, place them in a folding grid and braai for approx 30min, turning every few minutes. Brush excess marinade over mushrooms as you braai along.

Play around with your favourite flavours to create your own unique marinade.

The Mayonnaise is the oil base in this marinade, using olive or coconut oil with the mayo will make it too oily.
